Scare Tactics is the latest in a string of “reality based programming†will feature “Candid Cameraâ€-like stunts inspired by scenes from Science fiction television programs and movies. The “victims†will witness alien abductions, hauntings, and various other X-Philean type gags and their reactions will be chronicled here on this series.
Scare Tactics is a reality show on the Sci-Fi Channel. Its first two seasons aired from April 2003 to January 1, 2006. The third season premiered July 9, 2008 on Sci Fi, hosted by Tracy Morgan.
It is produced by HallockHealey Entertainment. The first season of the show was hosted by Shannen Doherty, the second season by Stephen Baldwin, and the third season by Tracy Morgan.
In Canada, it is broadcast on Razer. In Europe the first season of the program aired on MTV Central from 2003 to 2004.
Scare Tactics is a hidden camera show that puts unsuspecting victims into terrifying situations, usually involving movie-style special effects and makeup that recreates horror movie clichés. The victims, generally four per episode, are set up by friends/family in tandem with producers.
The unsuspecting victims on the show were usually lured to some location, either invited there by people they know (who were in on the act), or reporting for what they thought was a new job.
Soon they would experience some kind of terrifying scene — like a strange monster, a terrible accident, or a violent crime being committed – all of which was staged while the victim was secretly being video recorded.
